At the opening of the exhibition "Building the future. Saving the past. The effect of teamwork" Nikita Andreev, a historical consultant at the NWGlass-lab experimental glass workshop, gave a fascinating lecture on Falconier brick manufacturing technology, its history and revival. Falcone glasses can be seen at the exhibition until May 26th!
We are sharing with you Nikita Andreev's impressions of the exhibition and cooperation with VDS!
"On behalf of NWGlass-lab and on my own behalf, I would like to express my gratitude to the VDS group of companies for the invitation, a comfortable stay in Belarus and acquaintance with the exemplary infrastructure of the capital.
We are honored to have the opportunity to exhibit samples of our project products "falconnier.ru " at the same exposition with impressive projects, layouts and products of your company, demonstrating a high technological level and an innovative approach in the construction sector of the CIS. Also, holding a review lecture on the topic of the existence and reconstruction of the material in front of a circle of specialists and practitioners of the region has become an important addition and decoding of the presented subjects on a historical scale."
"It is important for us to show the Belarusian audience the practical and decorative properties of the material born at the end of the XIX century and revived by the efforts of enthusiasts in our time, to take the first step towards entering the local market of finishing materials.
On the opening day of the exhibition, we heard three interesting professional reports on decidedly different projects implemented by VDS, which eloquently show the company's capabilities and its enormous potential in modern architecture.
At one time, the innovative solutions of the Crystal Palace in London (1851) opened the way for prefabricated lightweight structures, giving birth to a new concept of iron-glass architecture. Several decades later, the search for the improvement of building glass led the Swiss architect and inventor to the idea of hollow glass bricks produced in a factory way and not requiring post-processing. This idea has greatly accelerated the glazing process of buildings, increased thermal efficiency, hygiene and wear resistance of windows. This invention was the first step in the evolution of such a material as glass block, which is still used in large volumes in construction."
"Nowadays, VDS is rethinking traditional metal structures, unifying elements and connecting nodes on its own production base. Performs complex engineering calculations, greatly optimizing the process of construction of structures. A full cycle of work within a single enterprise ensures continuity and consistency of processes from idea to implementation.
For us, this is an excellent example of the company's structure and motivates us to further expand our small enterprise.
Sincerely, Nikita Andreev, historical consultant of the NWGlass-lab experimental glass workshop."
