Fairground pavilion on the White Mountain

In 2017, WDS developed the concept and implemented the project of a fair pavilion at the Belogorsky St. Nicholas Orthodox Missionary Monastery in the Perm Region.
The monastery is located on the Belaya Mountain, which dominates the surrounding area. The road leading to the monastery wraps around the mountain in a spiral, allowing you to perceive the temple from all sides sequentially, from silhouette to details.
Historically, a fair was located near the monasteries. However, she did not have time to appear near the Belogorsky monastery, since it was consecrated in 1917, and then there was no time for bidding.
During the search for the image of the fair, various formats were considered from the "town" of open or closed pavilions to street malls.
As a result, the solution of an indoor "fairground" was implemented, which is a prefabricated building. The pavilion's image is inspired by Russian fairs of the 19th century. The architectural appearance preserves the pronounced stylistic and plastic solutions of the ensemble of the monastery complex, which made it possible to organically fit the new object into the existing environment.
The planning solution combined traditional Russian fairs and the convenience of covered pavilions: a single space inside the pavilion and continuity with the classic fair trade – a lot of small "shops" and shops. A cafe area is located in the courtyard under the glass roof.
