To minimize the risks of losses associated with equipment failure, the engineering and technical service of the VDS Plant implements the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system.

The Total Productive Maintenance system is aimed at improving the efficiency of equipment maintenance by:
- Developing individual maintenance regulations
- planning maintenance with condition analysis to prevent potential failures
- training in maintenance rules and involving individual operators in maintenance (daily inspection, cleaning, lubrication)
- analyzing the causes of breakdowns and failures with the development of a register of technical faults and their reasons
- for concluding long-term contracts for maintenance and supply of spare parts
- formation of a warehouse of key spare parts and components for operational restoration of operability
