Branding development for the city of Zhodino

In 2023, VDS implemented two projects for the city of Zhodino: a public transport stop and branding of the city.

Zhodino is a large industrial city in Belarus. It is a city of car builder, garment workers, power engineers, builders and scientists. The body of the largest car in the world, the BelAZ dump truck, became the source of inspiration and the basis of branding. The BELAZ plant is not only the leading brand of Belarus, but also the city-forming enterprise of Zhodino.

The easily recognizable geometric shape of the dump truck has become a module for graphic identity elements.

It fits seamlessly into the basis of each image of the sights and iconic locations of the city, illustrating the importance of BelAZ in the life of every citizen and the city as a whole. An object of pride and a place of attraction for guests — in every corner of the city there is a reminder of the native giant. This repetition in the pattern creates the interconnectedness of the entire urban navigation.

A historical monument in honor of the emergence of the city — the Baguslay Field complex, the Orthodox Church of the Virgin of the Deliverer, the Torpedo-BELAZ stadium, the Zhodino Museum of Local lore — all important locations of the city are reflected in the graphic pattern.

A bright, cheerful and friendly identity creates a new look for the hometown, promoting it as a comfortable place to live, work and visit.
