Light architecture for the courtyard of the Perm Theater of the Young Spectator
In 2023, VDS developed an architectural and design concept and implemented the Transitional Gallery project for the Young Spectator Theater in Perm.
In 2024, the project was continued — a decorative fence with lighting and a rotunda above the fountain were implemented for the courtyard of the Theater of the Young Spectator.
The concept of the project
The decorative fence presented in our project is a striking example of classical park architecture, harmoniously fitting into the overall architectural ensemble of the theater. Its elegance allows not only to define the boundaries of the space, but also to add a unique artistic note to the landscape design.
The rotunda, as an architectural structure, has deep historical roots dating back to ancient times, when such constructions were used to create meeting and recreation areas. In the context of our project, the rotunda performs not only a functional role, but also becomes an important visual accent of the courtyard.
The lines and details of the rotunda emphasize the classical architectural traditions of the theater building: ornate arched windows and columns located in the central part of the facade.
The open arches of the rotunda allow sunlight to enter, creating a play of light and shadow that varies depending on the time of day. The lighting integrated into the structure adds a special charm in the evening, turning the rotunda into a real light object.
Production
In order to visualize and test various design options in real conditions, a mock-up stage was carried out.
Creating a 1:1 scale layout allowed the VDS Team not only to evaluate the aesthetic component of the product, but also to identify optimal solutions for product illumination. In addition, the layout allowed us to test the functionality and interface of the elements in practice, as well as make the necessary adjustments before the start of production.
VDS's urban infrastructure facilities create a unique atmosphere, emphasizing the individuality of each space and contributing to the creation of a strong brand platform for the urban environment.
We hope that our lighting and architectural solutions for the Theater of the Young Spectator in Perm will become a source of inspiration and joy for local residents and visitors of the city!
